Antique landscape painting / framed oil painting of countryside landscape.

Calm, peace and serenity in this old framed bucolic oil painting from the 1907s - figurative painting on linen / cotton canvas frame: thatched farm on a small green hill, barn and medieval tower reminiscent of the périgord region (central france) - river bank (perhaps the dordogne?) with a character on his boat and a swimming swan bird - in the distance a village with red roofs - signed by the artist: f.urbain - june 1907. On the back: 1 hook for wall mounting with original string - the frame is fixed with leather straps. Total dimensions with frame: 66 X 56.5 cm - thickness approximately 3.5 cm. Internal dimensions: 58.4 X 48.1 cm. Original oak wood frame - 4 cm wide patinated brass decoration border. Weight of the whole 2.230 kg. Despite these 118 years, this superb painting has kept the liveliness of its colors but note: - the patina of the passing of time both on the canvas and on the brass of the frame. - the cracks of the years pronounced on the whole painting. - peeling paint on the right in the sky. (see the photographs carefully). I removed the dirt and dust of the years: the small gray dots that we see are not dirt but the wear of time of the painting - I applied a reversible varnish (retouching varnish) to the painting to stabilize everything and the frame is waxed. I have another painting signed by the same artist: the two would make a superb duo on a wall of an interior corridor/hall and other, restaurant, castle, guest house... A new life for these two paintings found dirty and dusty at the bottom of an attic.
