4801 Joe Colombo armchair, Kartell edition / transparent plexiglass

Joe Colombo armchair for Kartell, 1980s. Mod.4801, limited edition numbered n.003/T. This is an original edition by Kartell, a design icon and created in 1965 by one of the masters of Italian design, Joe Colombo. Originally made of wood, the 4801 armchair is now reissued in PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate or Plexiglas). A true symbol of 1960s design, also famous for being Kartell's only entirely wooden creation, the same product has been recreated, thanks to modern technology using PMMA and relying on industrial production, to reproduce the curved and sinuous shape of the seat.
