Rare mid century vintage teak chest of drawers with sculptural handles

This elegant and functional mid-century teak dresser, manufactured in denmark during the 1960s, will enrich any bedroom or living room. It is a rare model with seven drawers, also known as the semainier, popularized in 18th-century france (the name comes from the french word for the week, semaine), which was intended to separate the copious personal linens of the time into monday-through-sunday supplies. The top drawer includes a lock and key. The set up of the handles is very rare as well, they are only in the middle, while in danish dressers from that period they were on two sides or all along. This beautifully proportioned chest of drawers exemplifies danish mid-century design with its clean lines, finely selected teak veneer with rich grain, and sculptural drawer pulls. The dresser is in excellent condition. The drawers work smoothly. We cleaned the wood, and the surface was refreshed with several danish oil layers, enhancing the wood grain.
