Rare pair of professional orchestra chairs SE 68, designed by Egon Eiermann and produced by Wilde + Spieth (W+S) in Germany. These models were intended for conservatories, orchestras, and music schools. They differ from the classic SE68 by their adjustable technical base, tiltable seat, and adjustable height, designed to provide optimal comfort for musicians during long rehearsals. The two chairs feature an elegant combination of dark brown stained moulded plywood and a chrome steel structure. The star base is equipped with its rare original circular chrome footrests, as well as its original grey tips, which are often missing on preserved examples. The original Wilde + Spieth labels are still present under the seats. Produced in the 1970s with quality control carried out in 1980. Iconic pieces of 20th-century German design, particularly sought after by enthusiasts of architect furniture, industrial furniture, and modernist design. Mechanism functionality checked.
