Monix desk lamp. Inscription "monix la meilleure" under the base as well as "btt. Sgdg" which corresponds to a French patent, see photos. Dated 1925. Monix lamps were invented by Maxime Lokiec, established at 38 rue de la folie Méricourt in Paris (11th). The patent filed in 1922 concerns the spring-braked articulation ball joint which is used on most models. Entirely in nickel-plated brass, its light arm slides, pivots and tilts easily along the vertical steel rod. The tulip is in frosted glass. The base is weighted with cast iron for better balance and covered in nickel-plated brass. Presents some traces due to time which gives it a beautiful patina. Electrified in the old-fashioned way with a nice new cable. Bayonet bulb not included. Total height: 53 cm. Weight: 2.300 kg.
