“Breton fisherman” fish plate. Very rare and collectible, from the 1940s/50s signed and handmade (Breton manufacturer of artistic earthenware) pornic 'ile d'oleron'. The island of Oléron is the largest island on the French Atlantic coast. Oyster farming is an age-old activity. History. Pornic fayencerie was born after the First World War.
