Creil & Montereau Marie-Louise model pedestal dish

Volutes, garlands, medallions, all enhanced with greek motif friezes, this pedestal dish will seduce you with its magnificent navy blue decoration, a rich and delicate decoration of a bygone and ancient era (not only on the top but also on the pedestal and under the bottom of the dish). The creil & monterau stamp with the sailing ship and the name of the decoration (marie-louise service) is typical of the lebeuf or lebeuf-millot period in montereau, generally used between 1840 and 1876. The mention "labrador" is a technical recognition mark which designates a specific type of enamel, probably a formula or a particular rendering of glaze, used on certain productions. A very beautiful dish or compote dish on a pedestal, more than a hundred years old: traces of time and pretty original cracks (no cracks) with its warm patina, this piece tells the story of the passage of time.
