Vintage Space Age Cobra table lamp designed by Masayuki Kurokawa from the 1970s. This design reflects the predominant direction of design in Japan during the 1970s, with Metabolism in architecture and a kind of futuristic functionalism in design. This light fixture acts like a small character. It is extremely functional. The rubberised arm with a ribbed structure rests on a lacquered steel base. The shade is made of metal and fits perfectly onto the arm. The fixture is in remarkably good condition and shows barely any signs of wear. The rubber is still in very good condition and non-porous.
