Iran ashtray bowl in iranian cobalt blue bubble glass and engraved brass

This curious little bowl is made of solid bubble glass formed within an engraved brass ring. Oval in shape, it may have been an egg cup with its hollow. Cobalt blue in color, this bowl could serve as an ashtray or ring holder. It is certainly the creation of an Iranian glassmaker. The art of glassmaking in Iran is ancestral and renowned. In beautiful condition, it measures 8 cm X 6 cm X 3 cm in height.
