Rare wall plaque in glazed ceramic representing a stylised rooster, created by the workshop Les Argonautes in Vallauris in the 1960s by Isabelle Ferlay and Frédérique Bourguet. This emblematic work of the revival of Vallauris ceramics is distinguished by its graphic design with Mediterranean and primitive influences. The rooster, treated in a geometric and expressive manner, is animated by a superb cobalt blue glaze contrasting with incised decorations in cream, green, and brown tones. The marked reliefs and the deliberately raw texture of the clay highlight the artisanal character of the piece. The work of the Argonautes is now particularly sought after for the quality of its creations and its significant place in the history of post-war French ceramics. The reverse bears the incised signature "Les Argonautes, " guaranteeing its authenticity. Original hanging system present on the back. In good condition, no cracks or restoration.
