Vintage silver-plated dachshund knife rests – set of 6 – retro table decoration

Charming set of six vintage silver-plated knife rests featuring small stylised dachshunds. With their elongated and minimalist silhouette, these little dogs with stretched bodies evoke the whimsical decorative objects produced in the 1960s–1970s, when table art was happily allowed a touch of fantasy. Each knife rest stands on four small legs and holds the knife blade slightly elevated to keep the tablecloth clean. Their simple and elegant line gives them the appearance of small modernist sculptures. They add both a playful and refined note to a table, but can equally be arranged as decoration on a shelf or sideboard. In very good condition, with only rare and minimal signs of wear.
