Master's furniture – constable's hat cabinet in gustavian style

Period: 2nd half 19th century this charming little beauty was made as a master piece of furniture by an apprentice. It can be used as a jewelry box. The protruding constable hat cabinet has three drawers behind the two doors and one drawer below. All handles are small metal rings. The most notable feature of this piece is its distressed paint-effect finish in shades of blue and blackish-blue. A discreet gold tone has been applied in the door and side profiles. This aged effect and mutated colors are typical of the gustavian swedish style. The furniture is made of oak. Condition: very good. No damage. This is an older item and therefore signs of use can be expected. Dimensions: 44.3 cm high, 31 cm at widest point, 19 cm deep, 5 kg.
