Beautiful mid-century modern murano sommerso diamond-shaped ashtray/vide poche by flavio poli for seguso (murano, italy, 1960s). Made of thick red, yellow/orange and transparent faceted glass. It is extremely decorative. Can be used as a display piece on any table. Height: 8 cm; length: 14 cm; width: 14 cm. Weight: 1.0 kg. Excellent vintage condition. No chips, nicks or cracks. "sommerso" (italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
