Beautiful vintage english-language globe with compass, resting on an oak round base in art deco style, dated 1940s-50s, strangely not marked with a maker's mark. The map shows french west africa, indochina and belgian congo, among others. Through these countries we can perfectly date this characterful globe as dating from the 1950s or earlier (until 1934 when persia became iran). In good vintage condition, with signs of wear commensurate with its age, some light damage and discolouration, characterful object that will attract a lot of attention and be a talking point in your interior!
