This dagobert armchair in solid walnut is inspired by the throne of the king of france dagobert in the year 630. It recalls the curule seats of the romans and presents gothic style decorations in the renaissance taste. This seat is characterized by an X base, in two elements in the lower part joined by a bar and a low crossmember composed of volutes and notched on the top. Its curved seat rests on wooden slats with moldings. The two armrests end in volutes with sculptures of acanthus leaves. These are topped by a large scroll decorated with a shell and a grimacing mask. Its openwork back hosts a wide transverse band carved with volute foliage on a granite background. Very decorative, this armchair will delight lovers of unusual antiques. ******** Period: 1900. Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish.
