Flat plates J Vieillard Bordeaux, 1850

Splendid and nowhere to be found! Around 1850 in Bordeaux, the Manufacture Jules Vieillard. Set of 6 flat plates decorated with pink-burgundy flowers on faience made of barely ivory iron. English-style shape, wings low raised, with here a slight pattern of low-relief festoon. Two sets, irises and lilies, three of each. Brilliant, with no sign of use, they have rare and tiny defects due to their age - a small cloud on one and a soft, translucent grey tingling on another - these rare plates are almost 170 years old! 23cm diameter.
