Ancient Yomud Turkmen saddle rug – 70 X 130 cm Charming ancient Turkmen saddle rug, woven in wool on a deep red background, featuring a traditional composition adorned with stylised guls and geometric patterns characteristic of the textile art of the nomadic peoples of Central Asia. The main border harmoniously frames the central field decorated with repetitive medallions in shades of red, ivory, brown, and midnight blue. The ends are embellished with small protective motifs typical of Turkmen productions intended for horse equipment and the daily uses of nomadic tribes. This piece showcases authentic craftsmanship, with a beautiful patina and wear consistent with its age, giving it a lot of character.
