Louis XVI style rectangular mirror with foxed glass

Elegant French Louis XVI style giltwood mirror from the 19th century. This refined mirror features a rectangular giltwood frame, richly decorated with gesso in a geometric pattern and finished in gold leaf. The inner edge is adorned with classic pearl beading, adding a touch of neoclassical elegance. Dating from around 1880, the mirror retains its original glass, which has developed a beautiful foxed patina over time. The frame is in solid, healthy condition and shows a warm, timeworn finish that adds to its charm. Timeless in style yet surprisingly contemporary in look, this piece makes a striking decorative accent in both modern and traditional interiors. It can be displayed vertically or horizontally, depending on your space. Note: The stripe visible in the glass is from the board used during photography—it is not part of the mirror glass! Wear is consistent with age and use. Overall good condition, with usual wear, scratches, minor losses to gilding and foxed mirror glass.
