Amsterdam school vanity with central mirror. Made by Dutch furniture company 't Woonhuys in the 1920s. The vanity is made from teak, ebony and Macassar rosewood. It has two cabinets on each side with a central mirror and a shelf. Great symmetric design, which is typical for the Amsterdam school. Probably a design by Hildo Krop, Michel de Klerk or Ad Grimmon. 't Woonhuys was founded in 1907 in Amsterdam on the Vijzelstraat. In 1918 they moved to Prinsengracht, dating this vanity post 1918. Skillfully made piece of furniture that is still in very good condition. The wood has a deep rich colour. The mirror, being over a hundred years old, shows a subtle craquelure typical for antique mirrors.
