Floor ashtray manufactured by erhard & söhne in germany in the 1880s. Erhard & söhne was founded in 1844 by gottlieb erhard and his two sons in germany. The company became most famous for producing so-called fashion accessories such as candlesticks, buckles, buttons, and even furniture for dolls. The company specialized in the production of brass and bronze objects. It is believed that mr. Erhard and sons were the first in the world to invent so called "schleuderaschers" or rotating ashtrays, and it was already in 1938. Ashtray is preserved in original vintage condition.
