Ceramic enamelled set attributed to the Fives-Lille factory, Northern France, circa 1895–1905, consisting of two vases measuring 32 cm and a planter measuring 18 cm. Founded in the 19th century in the Lille industrial basin, the Fives-Lille factory is part of the rise of earthenware and ceramic workshops in the North, a region particularly dynamic in decorative production at the time. By the end of the 19th century, under the influence of Art Nouveau, these factories adopted a pronounced vegetal vocabulary, blending naturalism and stylisation. This set is an emblematic expression of that style. The iris decoration, an emblematic flower of the 1900 movement, unfolds in elongated and structured lines. The petals in shades of violet and pink stand out against a deep olive green background, characteristic of the Belle Époque enamels. The gilded highlights elegantly accentuate the vegetal curves. The architectural forms, moulded frames, and the model number 765 impressed under the pieces correspond to the practices of the period's workshops. The depth of the glaze and the quality of the modelling confirm a period production. Over a century of existence for a decorative composition that retains its presence and visual intensity. Very good condition.
