Charming hand-blown glass vase, characteristic of the productions of the Clichy Glassworks, dating from the late 19th or very early 20th century. Its elegant shape combines a flared and gathered tulip neck, hand-blown and pinched, with a ribbed bulbous body resting on a clear base. The variegated decoration, achieved by the inclusion of coloured glass powders in the mass, creates a play of swirls in pink, blue, white, and burgundy — each piece being unique. This technique, popularised by French glassworks at the end of the 19th century, is part of the tradition of popular artistic glass, straddling craftsmanship and modernity. • Material: multicoloured speckled blown glass. • Period: late 19th – early 20th century. • Condition: very good overall condition, no chips or cracks. • No visible marking. A beautiful character piece for a refined decoration.
