Pair of vintage rounded crystal salt shakers with their matching spoon. Engraved signature: daum france the story begins in 1871, when the notary jean daum established himself in nancy and bought a modest glassworks. The son, antonin, quickly took over the business, refined the glass paste technique and began to produce pieces fully in line with the art nouveau trend. Recognition from the artistic community did not take long to come, and daum's delicate creations found a place of choice in the various universal exhibitions held between 1894 and 1897. The glassmaking house opened its own drawing and engraving school, with a view to to train its own future decorators. And after the first world war, the house turned to art deco, then in full swing. It was with jacques daum that from 1965, the luxury crystal maker began to surround itself with big names in the world. Modern and contemporary art; bringing new life to production. From this time on, daum has continued to collaborate with big names in contemporary art, designers and other creators wishing to associate their “touch” with daum-branded glass paste. This duo of salt shakers is in good general condition; it is presented in its original box (with visible traces). A great gift for lovers of old tableware. Lo 7 X h 3.5 X w 5.5 cm vpc 2023-178.
