We offer here an astonishing coffee table, circular, with a particularly interesting tulip base, a low pedestal table with a central leg. Designed with a metal whose weight and appearance are opposite, it hides its game. Indeed, it is heavy (more than 20 kg) and yet, it presents lines with a surprising and refined design. Very probably this is, rather than simple cast iron, cast aluminum mainly used by the best designers for furniture thus revisited. As for the magnificent wooden top, it could be walnut. In any case, we are surprised to find no signature on this beautiful piece as it exudes a classic alliance, thanks to a very beautiful solid top in a slightly dark wenge color, and moreover, innovative for this cast iron foot with so modern lines in rather tan hues. This central foot which blossoms into 5 petals forming an inverted flower (in Brittany, we think of the magnificent common avens of Crozon for example), is a guarantee of great stability, but also of aesthetics since the uniqueness of the foot allows this discretion. In summary, this design refers to known designs such as the famous "elysée" table by Pierre Paulin (1927-2009), which was made for the apartments of President Pompidou at the Elysée in 1971, is not far from presenting astonishing similarities, even in the designed base; or the oval pedestal table by eero saarinen (1910-1961) created in 1956, for knoll. With a tulip-shaped base made of cast aluminum; The whole offers remarkably balanced proportions.
