Period: early twentieth century. Theme: columbine or white pierrot. About the painter lucien boulier (1882-1963) Boulier was the last pupil of pierre-auguste renoir. He studied at the école des beaux-arts in paris, where he obtained a first prize medal before retiring to study alone at the louvre. He was particularly attracted to the work of the impressionists, especially that of pierre-auguste renoir, with whom he studied privately. Boulier's work was featured in a number of exhibitions during the 1920s, including the galerie charpentier in paris in 1923 and the wildenstein gallery in new york in 1924.
