Michel Charron set – 1970s – smoked glass table & 4 chairs

Superb dining set by Michel Charron, dating from the 1970s, with an iconic design from that period. The set consists of a round table with a smoked glass top resting on a spectacular cast aluminium base, accompanied by four matching chairs, also with cast aluminium legs and transparent plexiglass shells, enhanced by their original seat cushions. A particularly elegant and sculptural piece, characteristic of Michel Charron's work, where the transparency of the plexiglass and smoked glass contrasts with the organic lines of the aluminium base. Table dimensions: • Diameter: 125 cm. • Height: 75.5 cm. Condition: The set shows a patina and signs of use consistent with its age and history, which testify to its authenticity. The smoked glass top has scratches from use as well as a small chip, visible in the photographs. The plexiglass shells also show some scratches and signs of wear. Three of them have a crack located at the bottom, near the attachment, which is not very visible once the chairs are in place and does not detract from the overall aesthetic of the set. Details are visible in the photos. The original cushions also show some marks related to their age.
