An iconic, five-light pendant lamp with a cascading design, manufactured in the 1970s by the Czechoslovak company Elektroinstala Jílové u Děčína. This model is an excellent and highly sought-after example of Central European Mid-Century Modern and Space Age design. The lamp features a minimalist yet dynamic "spider" or cascade form. Five independent cords of varying lengths extend from a round black ceiling canopy, terminating in geometric fixtures shaped like slender black cylinders (tubes). [1] Manufacturer: Elektroinstala Jílové (Czechoslovakia). Model / Type: 68816/1 (base body version without glass shades). Style: Space Age, Brutalism, Mid-Century Modern. Material: Plastic with matte and glossy black finishes, brass cord grips at the canopy, white cables. Light source: 5 light points (standard period-appropriate sockets concealed within the tubes). The design allows for individual height adjustment of each light point, enabling the creation of unique lighting compositions. Technical and visual condition. Fully functional: The electrical wiring and bulb sockets are in working order. Good condition (original base unit): The plastic components (canopy and tubes) are preserved in their original state, free from cracks. Minor surface scratches and superficial wear to the finish/plastic are visible. Note: This unit serves as a complete mounting assembly; it does not include the original glass crystal shades (which were originally attached to the lower collars of the tubes), allowing it to function as a raw, industrial tube-style chandelier or as a base for restoration. Fixture dimensions. Total height (maximum drop length): approx. 80.0 – 100.0 cm (cables can be shortened) Ceiling canopy diameter: approx. 22.0 cm. Dimensions of a single tube: height approx. 14.0 cm|diameter approx. 5.0 cm.
