Antique storage jar Sarreguemines Obernai Henri Loux

An old Obernai storage jar full of character. This beautiful Obernai earthenware storage jar stands out with its generous cylindrical shape and its surprising weight of nearly 800 g for just 14 cm in height. Its decoration, inspired by Henri Loux, depicts a lively Alsatian scene in front of the village houses, while its lid is adorned with delicate floral bouquets. The underside bears the mark Obernai – Faïenceries Sarreguemines – France. Complete with its lid, it is in good overall condition with some enamel crazing and a few signs of age, particularly noticeable under the base of the lid. A lovely piece to find to complete an Obernai set or to repurpose today as a decorative container.
