Painted wooden wedding box, early 20th century

Wedding box composed of a domed lid and a rectangular container made of wood, painted with decorations of garlands of flowers and foliage in green, orange, and blue on a pale green background. The back and the inside of the lid are lined with paper featuring friezes in khaki green, brown, and ochre. A metal hook on the front and two fittings of the same material at the back allow for the opening and closing of the lid. In generally good condition, this wedding box reflects the popular art of the early 20th century. It shows some wear and minor imperfections that give it an authentic patina. Ideal for storing whatever you wish, it will find its place in any room of your home and will add a colourful and vintage touch to your decor.
