A nearly watercolour-like rendering highlighting a soft, autumnal aquatic colour palette, where very pastel colours invite one to stroll along the bank for an evening walk. Oil on panel signed at the bottom right by Paul Rue (1866-1954), a landscape painter nicknamed the painter of Berry poetry. The painting, in very good condition, is presented in a period frame: a fine gilded moulding encircling a wide linen canvas. Frame dimensions: height 31 cm, width 36 cm.
