Two stoneware mugs by roger jacques (1920-2001), 1960, grès de Puisaye, Saint Amand A celebrated french ceramist from saint amand, he took over his father's pottery business in 1943. He modernized the tableware collection in 1947. Known for his glazes, which he developed after training in a test laboratory run by the ceramics manufacturer porcher in revin, his unique pieces feature gray, blue, green, bright red and intense black colors. Common tableware is often off-white, revealing an ochre-colored earth. The shapes are pure, with no intrusive decoration. The color of these goblets is more of an ochre brown, with a warmth of color and white drips. A true work of art. A collector's item for lovers of french ceramics from the middle to the last century. Height: 10cm. Diameter: 7.3cm. Set weight: 462g.
