Evy elsa margareta selander, born april 5, 1906 in höör, died october 26, 1960 in björnstorp, gödelöv parish, skåne, was a swedish music educator and painter. She was the daughter of the bookseller holger bonderup and emma nord and from 1930 married to the elementary school teacher uno selander. She graduated as a cantor and organist in 1923 and then continued to study singing and music in copenhagen. After her studies, she worked for a few years as a music teacher in malmö, but her interest in art led her to switch to painting. She studied at the skånska painting school in malmö 1936–1938 and at otte sköld's painting school in stockholm in 1939, as well as through self-study during trips to denmark, norway, spain, france and yugoslavia. Separately, she exhibited several times in malmö and she exhibited separately at galerie æsthetica in stockholm in 1949 and at norrköping's art museum in 1953. She participated in collective exhibitions arranged by skåne's art association and sweden's general art association. Her art consists of still lifes, figure compositions, landscape paintings from björnstorp by romeleåsen and, in recent years, works with religious motifs done in oil or watercolour. Selander is represented at folkets hus and allmänna sjukhuset in malmö as well as norrköping's art museum.
