Viardot Japanese dragon mirror, circa 1880

Superb japanese fireplace mirror in lacquered wood, carved with an imposing dragon and decorative motifs. Japonisme, france, circa 1880. Attributed to gabriel viardot (1830-1904), a famous parisian cabinetmaker specializing in the production of "chinese-japanese" furniture. He distinguished himself several times at the universal exhibitions of 1867, 1878, 1889 and 1900, during which he received several medals. In very good condition, some wear marks.
