Tuscany baroque secretary with a drop-down front, Italy, 18th century

Baroque secretary with a drop-down front from Tuscan production, supported by curved legs; the lower band is moulded at the front and on the sides; it has two drawers topped by a drop-down door that conceals a compartment with a shelf and drawers. Veneered in olive wood with ebonised inlays. The writing surface inside is finished with the same patterns; the interior is made of silvered fir and poplar. The piece features entries with enamelled medallions depicting landscapes; the ventilation openings are a later addition.
