Elegant porcelain vase by Robert Deblander (1924-2010), made in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, Nièvre. Of Meiping shape, inspired by traditional Chinese vases, this piece features a sleek and perfectly balanced silhouette, with a slightly tapered base, rounded shoulders, and a short neck. Its glaze in subtle shades of mauve, purplish brown, and purple presents a finely speckled texture, offering delicate variations in material and light. Robert Deblander (1924-2010) is one of the key figures in the revival of French ceramics in the second half of the 20th century. A graduate of the École nationale supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Paris, he opened his first workshop in 1949 before settling in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye in the early 1960s. Initially recognised for his research on stoneware, he also turned to porcelain, developing forms of great sobriety, inspired notably by Eastern ceramic traditions. His works are included in numerous public collections, including those of the Musée national de céramique in Sèvres. A major artist in French ceramics, Robert Deblander is also referenced in the book "Grès de Puisaye, de Jean Carriès à nos jours – Marques et signatures, " dedicated to the potters and ceramists of the region. A refined collector's piece, representative of his research on the purity of forms and the subtlety of glazes. Dimensions: Height: 11.7 cm. Diameter: 8 cm. Condition: perfect condition. Material: glazed porcelain. Origin: Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, Nièvre, France. Period: circa 1980-1990.
