This antique pharmacy counter has stood the test of time for over a century without losing an ounce of character. Its solid chestnut structure opens on both sides with three pairs of doors. The brass fittings display the purest Art Deco spirit. Two white marble slabs, each 1.75 m long, adorn the top, one on each side, originally intended for the preparation of remedies. The marble shows some chips on its edges and signs of use on the surface. These are the marks of a century of service, which we choose to embrace rather than excessively restore. Similarly, there is noticeable discolouration on the baseboards of the piece after years of cleaning the floors with chlorine, as was customary in care settings. There are a few missing wood pieces that do not affect the structure or functionality of the furniture. Designed to be double-sided, this counter originally functioned as a true partition in the pharmacy. It comes from France, dating back to the very early 20th century. Today, it can play this role again in a contemporary interior: as a central island, storage unit, or a character piece isolated in the middle of a room. At three and a half metres long, it is a piece that commands attention. It structures a generous space — hotel, restaurant, boutique, or large open kitchen. An exceptional piece, in the truest sense of the word. This piece is made from a single unit and cannot be disassembled; only the marble tops are in two parts. Please consider its dimensions to ensure it can be installed in the intended location.
