Carved indian furniture

Old indian wedding chest carved in solid wood. The damchiya was the traditional chest containing the dowry that the indian bride took with her to live with her husband. It was made at the request of the bride's family, in anticipation of the wedding. Each piece is therefore unique! This damchiya has two imposing rounded feet, embellished with scrolls. It is embellished with two horses carved at the top and two flower buds at the bottom. Its beautiful antique patina will go perfectly in a wabi-sabi interior. This is a vintage piece, second-hand, traces of use are present, which contributes to its uniqueness and charm.
