Vintage illustration of a purple heron Ardea purpurea wall poster.

This refined vintage engraving showcases the little egret (Ardea purpurea) in all its elegance. The illustration highlights how this slender marsh bird stands out from other herons: with its dark reddish-brown chest, copper-coloured neck, blue-grey wings, and its elegant, almost serpentine posture. The fine lines of aquatic plants, reeds, and marshes create a soft, natural background that further accentuates the bird. The poster is produced exclusively for Bij de Tijd in a French workshop, printed on light ivory laid paper 220G. This luxurious matte paper with a subtle texture gives the engraving an authentic and timeless appearance, perfect for a mid-century inspired interior or nature-oriented decor.
