Painted terracotta wall mask in a modernist style inspired by Africa. Western Europe, circa 1950–1970. Hand-moulded and painted terracotta: stylised geometric composition around an anthropomorphic face. Palette dominated by slate blue, ochre, white, and brown-purple highlights, applied in matte areas outlined with clear contours. Symmetrical patterns evoking African ritual masks and a cubist aesthetic, in the spirit of so-called "primitive" arts reinterpreted by mid-20th-century design. Raw terracotta reverse with a suspension hole. Unsigned. Height: 32.5 cm. Width: 18 cm. Thickness: 1.5 cm.
