Cradle, folk art, 19th century alsatian polychrome wooden furniture. Cradle made for a child named fritz, born in 1837, in brumath, a village north of strasbourg. This piece of furniture was purchased in 1997 in strasbourg from a renowned antique dealer: bernard demay, strasbourg antique dealer, "la cour renaissance" rue de l'ail, author of the book "meubles polychromes alsaciens bernard demay, christine demay bastberg ". These polychrome pieces of furniture were generally made of tightly grained pine. Unique piece of furniture, typical alsatian stub decoration.
