Authentic stool / footrest model "Taureau", designed by the famous French designer Pierre Guariche and produced by the Belgian firm Meurop in the late 1950s. This modernist piece of furniture is distinguished by its characteristic curved seat in black skai (vinyl), highlighted by a row of metallic upholstery nails (rivets). The minimalist black lacquered tubular metal base features its iconic "X" structure beneath the wooden seat. General condition: In its original state and perfectly stable. The skai shows a beautiful patina of time, with slight superficial marks and a visible dent (see detail photos), attesting to its authenticity. The metal rivets show signs of natural oxidation that add to its vintage charm; note that one rivet is missing (see photos). Two rubber foot caps are missing. • Designer: Pierre Guariche. • Publisher: Meurop (Belgium) • Era: 1950s / 1960s. • Dimensions: Width 50 cm × Depth 30 cm × Height 30.5 cm. • Weight: Approx. 2 kg.
