The original graphics of the poster date from 1923. It was designed, following a competition won by joos schmidt for the bauhaus exhibition in weimar in 1923. The poster, consisting of squares and circles, features the bauhaus logo designated by oskar schlemmer, which was requested for use in the competition. The original version of the poster, which was used to advertise at 120 german stations, mentions july to september as exhibition dates.
