Superb large vase by marius bessone, circa 1950/60. Background in white and black lava glaze decorated on one side with geometric, organic figures, blue, yellow, pink, brown, green and orange enameled pastilles. Enamelled yellow interior. Very good used condition. Height: 30cm - neck diameter: 16cm - base diameter: 11.5cm - weight: 2kg. Marius besson (1929-2001). After studying industrial techniques for architecture and ceramic decoration, he opened his own workshop where he tested different processes: crystallization, reliefs on brown tone and volcanic effects. In 1954 he opened his workshop in vallauris with his wife huguette and participated in almost all biennials as well as prestigious exhibitions across france and europe.
