Vintage Sommerso Glass Bowl by Mona Morales for Kosta, 1960s, Sweden

Mona morales schildt is regarded as one of sweden's most talented glass designers. Her objects can be seen in museums and art galleries all over the world. Her work always holds an extremely high standard when it comes to shape, color and standard. This is a very rare and beautiful handblown signed sommerso bowl which as a deep blue color and it is 16.5cm (6.49") in diameter and around 7.5cm (2.95") high. This is a studio production, made at kosta glass mill during the 60s, in which she is showcasing her extraordinary talent as glass blower. It is in a very good condition. Sommerso glass is a very advanced technique used in order to create several layers of glass often with different contrasting colors or materials inside a single object, giving the illusion of “immersed” colors that lay on top of each other without mixing. Here she has used blue colored glass and covered it with clear crystal.
