Pair of large still lifes with flowers - oil on canvas - 18th century - pair of highly decorative paintings depicting two bouquets of tulips, anemones, carnations, irises, roses and hydrangeas arranged in two vases, on their entablature. Northern school of the 18th century, in the style of the late 17th century. Original stretcher and canvases. Pair of highly decorative paintings, in gilded wooden frames. Very good general condition, excellent overall aesthetic appearance. Despite some minor imperfections and superficial wear inherent to its age, the work retains all its beauty and visual integrity. A careful examination reveals some traces of restoration. An attempt at corrosive cleaning damaged a flower, see last photo. It is very discreet. The dark green paint on some of the leaves has darkened more than the others over time - dimensions: • external measurements of the frames: 82 X 62 cm • measurements of the stretchers: 70 X 50 cm.
