Travel writing board signed "vervelle" napoleon III era blackened wood from the nineteenth to 1850. It is composed of an eventful box decorated with brass nets marrying the shape of the movements, falls, a lock entrance and galleries all in chiseled bronzes and embellished with two beautiful marquetry boulle tortoiseshell and brass. In the center of the two boulle marquetry is a cartridge bearing the monogram "o s" surmounted by a crown. The initials "o s" are those of olympe de sinard née bouffier married to jean jacques de chevallier de sinard comte de sinard who was mayor of livron in 1808. The writing board opens onto the upper part by a double lids revealing a rosewood interior composed of a letter holder on three levels accompanied by a long central compartment with a tray and framed by two spaces used for inkwells. There is a brass plate used to hook the lock where it is inscribed: « maison vervelle audot sr. 1 rue neuve montmorency feydeau paris » The lower part also opens with a lid revealing a writing part sheathed in a blue velvet composed of a flap which once opened gives way to a large storage space.
