Flower vase in glass VMC Reims and pewter bowl from Manoir Paris

Here is a piece from a lovely collaboration between two well-known French manufacturers: a flower frog vase, made of glass from the VMC factory in Reims, and a cup-shaped base on a pedestal, stamped "Etains du Manoir, Paris, France." VMC, which stands for "Verrerie Mécanique Champenoises, " is a company founded in 1911 that experienced its heyday in the 1950s, being at the forefront of mechanical processes and computerisation. Etains du Manoir is a company from the Paris region that was established in 1959. The shape, combining straight lines and curves, gives it an Art Deco style, even though this object likely dates from the 1950s or 1970s. This flower frog can also be repurposed as a pencil holder on a desk or for makeup brushes in a bathroom. The cup is a beautiful asset for this flower frog; the tin enhances the glass and also helps to conceal the often slightly tarnished bottom from deposits in the cells (here, I have cleaned the cells well with bleach, but it can be even better with a brush). The overall condition is good, but it shows some signs of its age: the patina of time on the tin (small stains and scratches) and a small chip that can be felt by touch but is almost invisible on the glass. The whole piece measures 11 cm in diameter and 10 cm in height.
