Hans Wegner (1914-2007) for Fritz Hansen, two teak chairs, model 'FH4103', designed 1952, Denmark. Set consisting of two dining room chairs in varnished teak with three conical braced legs and rounded back, with manufacturer's label underneath, h.73cm, seat height: 43cm, l.54cm, d.40cm. Condition. Age-appropriate signs of wear and abrasion, scratches and paint residue, partial glaze wear, one chair with dirt, easily cleanable. ---- Hans Wegner is a reference in the conception and design of Danish furniture from the 50s and 60s. Some of his pieces have become design icons such as the "round chair", the "y" wishbone ch24 chair or well still its ch07 shell armchair. He draws his inspiration from the creations of kaare klint. Like Scandinavian design, he produces pieces with a light, neat, elegant, minimalist, sometimes organic aesthetic. Hans Wegner attaches great importance to the structure of his furniture and the quality of the finishes. The assemblies as well as the choice of natural materials make its furniture little marvels of robustness and longevity. In addition, ergonomics plays a vital role in the design of its seats. Hans Wegner will imagine more than 500 different seats. He will work with several furniture manufacturers such as Johannes Hansen, Carl Hansen, Ap Stolen, etc.
