Pressure bench

Pressure Bench in aluminum, by Tim Teven. The deformation of metal by pressure reveals fascinating technical details as well as new visual and tactile qualities. The Pressure stool and bench are made from aluminum sheets into which a pattern is pressed. On the one hand, this pressure hardens the material; on the other, the normally cold and rigid aluminum takes on a surprisingly soft and pleasant appearance. This technique makes it possible to produce lightweight seating from aluminum as thin as 2 mm. DV2499.
