DCW chair (d=dining c=chair w=wood -> wooden dining room chair) in multiplex. Design icon created by ray & charles eames. This is a first generation chair produced by the Evans Molded Plywood Company between 1946 and 1948 (Herman Miller purchased the company in 1949 and continued production). Aside from the label; a few details differentiate the first generation chairs produced by Evans: - Under the chair, the 5-2-5 arrangement of screws (in 1949 we moved to 4-2-5). - the absence of small metal pads under the legs of the chair - the use of screws with a flat screwdriver head for fixing the rear leg and the backrest (later we moved on to cross screwdriver heads). The chair has been finished by a professional. All screws and shock-mounts are original (even the rear backrest, which is very rare).
